The Innovative Payments Association (IPA) has released its 2024 Annual Report, reflecting on a year marked by significant regulatory activity, policy developments, and continued innovation across the payments industry.
Throughout 2024, the IPA worked on behalf of its members to advance a stable, pro-innovation regulatory environment while addressing some of the industry's most pressing issues. The report highlights advocacy efforts related to earned wage access (EWA), open banking, interchange fees, bank-fintech partnerships, artificial intelligence, overdraft and NSF fees, and evolving federal and state regulatory priorities. The report also showcases the IPA's thought leadership and public engagement activities, including comment letters, media outreach, educational initiatives, and the 2024 Innovative Payments Conference. In addition, it provides insight into the association's efforts to strengthen industry collaboration, support financial inclusion, and help members navigate an increasingly complex policy landscape. As policymakers and regulators continue to shape the future of payments, the IPA remains committed to representing the interests of the industry and promoting responsible innovation that benefits consumers, businesses, and government alike.
