Washington is bracing for a government shutdown as partisan roles reverse and the battle over executive authority intensifies. The House has already passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the government through Nov. 21, but negotiations remain stalled. President Trump is set to meet with congressional leaders, though a breakthrough appears unlikely. This shutdown fight reflects a fundamental shift: Republicans are now pushing for a “clean” CR, while Democrats are tying funding to healthcare subsidies.
