Maxson Introduces Sheeter Specifically Designed for Digital Press Sizes

Maxson Automatic Machinery Company (Westerly RI USA) has introduced to the market a sheeter specifically designed for the digital sheet fed printing presses. The sheeter, which can accept up to 65” (1651 mm) wide webs, can convert and stack up to 40” (1016 mm) long sheets. The sheeter configuration is in response to the printing press manufacturers’ trend of providing digital size sheets between 10” – 30” (254 – 762 mm).   read more »

Cartoneo Invests in Large-Format Presses from Heidelberg

Since the end of last year, French packaging printer Cartoneo has been operating not one but two new six-color presses from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) - a Speedmaster XL 162 and a Speedmaster XL 105. Both presses have a coating unit and integrated UV equipment for printing with UV inks and coatings. They replace two competitor presses in the same formats. Cartoneo specializes in the design, printing, and packaging of point-of-sale (POS) items such as displays and surface-finished packaging in short and very short runs.  read more »

GPO's FDsys Achieves Record Number of Visits

The U.S. Government Printing Office’s (GPO) Federal Digital System (FDsys) achieved a record number of visits, totaling more than 140,000 visits to the site over a five-day period. This record was accomplished after GPO supported the National Archives in releasing the post-President Kennedy assassination audio tape recording on FDsys last week. FDsys also achieved a one day record of 55,856 visits on January 31st.  There have been 4.3 million total visits to FDsys since the site was launched by GPO in January 2009.

DG Graphic Purchases Two Intec Printers

M. Vincent Guillaume of DG Graphic in France now runs two Intec printers.

Towards the end of last year, the busy company in Sartrouville, north France, purchased an Intec DMP420 supplied and fitted by Intec partner Neryos. Now just weeks into 2012, DG has just purchased a shiny new Intec CP2020 also from Neryos.
