Note to IPA Members:
As of April 1, 2010, all employees of IPA member companies may participate in IDEAlliance committees, networks and working groups. (Merger Details) Involvement and obligations vary by committee, but generally include monthly conference calls and periodic in-person meetings.
The backbone of IDEAlliance is active, ongoing, and forward-looking groups composed of members. IDEAlliance organizes its groups into three areas of work:
These groups are the “think tanks” of IDEAlliance serving a targeted area or interest of the membership. Committees provide a community for members to communicate and collaborate. Each committee provides leadership and develops and drives sound and viable solutions that build efficiencies and removes costs from the chain. The objectives are: 1) Develop best practices; 2) Provide a forum for industry intelligence and discussions about leading edge technology and business trends and models; and 3) Develop enterprise and process integration for standardization.
IDEAlliance provides two ways of becoming engaged – corporate membership which gives ALL individuals within an organization access to ALL programs and services of IDEAlliance OR –network membership – for a limited, defined area of work. For network participation an individual will have access to one, targeted program without access to all programs and services of IDEAlliance as a full member. There is an individual-based fee to participate in a network.
These entities within IDEAlliance are charged to develop specifications, standards, technical guidelines, tools, and certification programs. The work of the each group is technical and requires in-depth understanding of business processes and supply chains. Many of the specifications are XML-based. In addition, we work closely with the Ghent Work Group, CGATS, US TAG, ISO, and other international groups to develop best practices, specifications and standards.
