DESCRIPTION: Managing color from design concept to the final printed product includes many challenges. Fortunately, with today’s improved color science, new technologies are enabling robust systems for managing color properly. But every stakeholder in the production process requires a proper understanding of key color concepts and workflow steps to maximize the capabilities of today’s color management systems.
This “Introduction to Color Management” webinar provides a clear, simple, and technically accurate overview of color management for everyone in your organization-including your clients. We’ll provide a succinct explanation of color management with examples of everyday practical color issues, including the business case for effective color management. We’ll also address the processes for press to proof match, soft proofing, and color management using ICC and iterative solutions. Lastly, we’ll describe those important fundamentals important to achieving accurate color including lighting, CIELAB color space, color tolerances, and acceptability.

About the Presenter

Bill Pope is the former Technical Director for the Flexographic Technical Association and is Adjunct Faculty at Rochester Institute of Technology. He has taught industry seminars and courses on the printing processes and color management for many years and has focused his career on driving process control for color consistency. He is a graduate of RIT’s School of Print Media with a degree in Printing Systems & Engineering.
