Renowned digital capture specialist Jodie Steen of 127 Productions will review the primary digital camera issues for both digital SLRs and large format camera backs to be sure the shoot is "in the bag."

Great photo shoots can fall apart when critical image data is mishandled. The camera RAW file has the most information and can be crucial to great reproduction of an image, but that flexibility means that many photographers don't want to release their RAW files. What are the best methods to use RAW? How do photographers and premedia experts work together to assure the photographer's vision is honored when separating from RAW? Jodie Steen of 127 Productions has worked on dozens of major photo shoots for editorial and advertising photographers. She'll cover the basics of RAW and the issues that bringing RAW files into your workflow brings up.

- Learning Lab: Rapid Image Correction for Print and Web

This session includes techniques and tips for rapidly evaluating, correcting and adjusting color images. Some color images need color correction. Some images don’t require color correction, but can be improved with color adjustments. And, some images may benefit from both. Knowing the difference between these two, and when each is required is important in helping you decide how to quickly and accurately edit your color images. Techniques include: Histogram based corrections; Curves corrections; Color by numbers tools, tips and techniques; Neutralization tips for images without neutrals; and target-based color calibration and image corrections. The emphasis of the techniques is on quickly evaluating an image's needs, and then making fast, accurate color corrections and adjustments in a production environment.
