Part 1: Defining the Toolset

In the first session, we:
  • Define Cross Media and establish its value to service providers
  • Identify the toolset required for a successful Cross Media workflow
  • Create some graphical elements using Creative Suite 3 that we will use in a sample print, web and mobile campaign
Part 2: Workflow Automation and CS3

We continue our Cross Media discussion with a look into the Cross media workflow and how we can use automation to make our workflow more efficient.

In the second session, we:
  • Use the assets we built in part one to create a publication
  • Export that publication to an interactive PDF
  • Use the copy and graphics from the publication to create a web catalog
  • Use Adobe Device Central to test our web site on a variety of mobile devices
  • Look toward automation with InDesign server and partner tools

Working Words & Graphics

James Lockman is the owner of Working Words & Graphics, a variable data marketing services company, graphic design shop and digital prepress services bureau. An Adobe Certified Print Specialist who has been using PDF in his own print workflow since 1995, James is an experienced technical resource for printers, equipment suppliers, brokers and graphic designers around the country. He is also a seasoned instructor. In the early 1990s, James taught physics at Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts and currently teaches Desktop Publishing for Print Production in the Department of Technology at the University of Southern Maine.
