Color Management in Acrobat

Member price: $110.00
Non-member price: $155.00

Session 4 -

In this fourth in the series we come full circle to our completed print-ready document in the form of PDF.

PDF is a very flexible container file format, allowing not only images and text, but bookmarks, hyperlinks and even movies, none of which are printable. Understand why would we want to color manage PDF and how can we restrict the kinds of objects and color spaces used in PDF.

Plus, we discuss what are PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 formats and how to produce them from InDesign and QuarkXPress.

We’ discuss the color settings in both Adobe Acrobat Professional and Distiller 7, both of which have unique behavior among the Adobe applications. We’ learn how to soft proof, hard proof, and convert objects to different color spaces and produce color managed PDFs both for high-quality print and for low-quality on-screen preview purposes.
